I was just wondering what everyones front brake feels like. Mine seems soft, though I dont have a problem with it, If I pull hard on the lever it definetly will pull the bike up fast, I imagine it will lock the front wheel up. But I was just riding a friends Honda VTR 250 and the brake is a lot fiirmer than mine. I got the twin disks on the front.
brake feel on mine is pretty soft. i need to pull the lever a bit to get a bit of braking pressure...but it stops good all the saem. u wont have to worry too much as long as u cant pull the lever all the way in n touch the grips, if u can then ull need to bleed the brakes. dave
Replacing the standard rubber brake hoses with braided stainless steel ones does improve the feel and firmness no end. Besides, the ones that come with the bike when it's new usually have a 'replace by' date stamp on them. So any bikes that are older than that, usually have braided hoses on them anyway, as a standard(ish) upgrade.
how much do braided brake lines cost? front and rear. my brakes dont feel the best. more pressure i give, more jerkier it gets. starting to pee me off <!-- s:-? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_Eyecrazy.gif" alt=":-?" title="Eye Crazy" /><!-- s:-? --> <!-- s:-? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_Eyecrazy.gif" alt=":-?" title="Eye Crazy" /><!-- s:-? -->
My braided lines for the FZR250 cost me about 50 GBP, I put them on myself which saved me some money.
I'm in the South East bit of the UK, so I went along to a shop in Brighton called Bikes of Brighton. It actually worked out to 27 GBP a line all inclusive, which is not a bad price at all imho. When buying things like brake lines, I like to get a proper look at the product, that's why I didn't buy them over the internet.
