    what fzr dude just said.

the more light you have the more visible you'll be to other cages.

When my globes needed replacing I recall that they were 30W bulbs (I remember this because the auto shop said that they don't carry that wattage globes, and that they had no idea where I would have got them - they were original from the bike). They shed no light at all. Replaced them with 55/60W globes and the difference was amazing!

There is a link over on the Brotherhood forum that explains how to rewire the circuit and add in a relay. Supposed to really increase the wattage that is going to the bulbs/globes and with the rewire you are also protected from over heating the harness.

I just found the link and it is actually for a .pdf and it is for a FJ 1200, but I think if you look at it and then look at how your bike is wired, you'll see what to do. If I remember correctly the FJ was a single headlight setup.

Let me know if this helps anyone or not. I have not done this yet, but may do it this weekend.

Having 2 55watt globes seems a bit excessive for a 250 thats all. I mean thats the same capacity as a car! And a single headlight bike only uses a 55 watt globe.

Im just curious as to whether ppls bikes are holding charge at idle with both 55watt globes running. I think the bike charges at around 14amps...with 2 55 watt globes..thats drawing over 9amps by itself. Then u got tail lights and whateva else..

Anyone know what the stock wattages are?
