I'm in the middle of doing a shim job on my FZR250RR, and wondered if anyone knows the torque setting for the cam shaft bearing caps. <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!-- s --> About 10 Nm sounds about right? Seems like so much work for the one valve that needs adjusting, got to be done though!
Sorry, I can't tell you what the exact torque specification is. A good, firm tightening by hand should be sufficient.
Thanks, but where internal engine bits are involved, I do like to stick to the proper torques. I reakon that 10 Nm is ok for that sized bolt. Heh, thanks for your reply. Been sorted a while ago. I forget the exact torque, but I did them all up to that, and 2000 miles later... everything is ok still. I'm actually thinking of selling my FZR now. I've got university to think about, and stuff to buy for that.
doing the very exact thing on Komas bike.. 10Nm is the right setting... same bolts as on the YZF600...
These bolts should be progressively tightened in a sort-of-diagonal pattern. I usually do it in 3 torque steps, say 5Nm then 7Nm and finally 10Nm
