Hey, bought myself an '89 fzr 3ln a few weeks ago and have been trawling through the search bar for useful information, seems like a great site! anyway i'll keep it short, follow the link to see some pics of it, in need of a slight tidy up but otherwise in excellent condition (with a freshly polished top yoke!) ...and hi to everyone ps. next mod is to polish up the fuel filler after i've got it tidy!... All comments appreciated cheers olie http://www.bikepics.com/members/oliers/89fzr250/
That's quite a nice looking example. Seems to be a popular colour scheme lately - about 4 recent members to this site have had that colour scheme.
Welcome to the forum, you'll learn plenty here. As for the bike very nice specimen, and yeah what is the bike behind the fiz?
Welcome. That’s one nice and shiny triple clamp. Maybe when you polish up the cap you can post up a metal polishing how to guide.
Welcome to the site mate, Damn nice looking lady!
hey, cheers for the warm welcome! the yellow one is my Aprilia RS125 which i've owned well over a year.... spent lots of money on it and bought 3 donor bikes to use as spares whilst making a profit on the leftovers , was hoping to get another two-stroke after that but uni committments make it unfeasable atm.... maybe later! the fiz seems like a damn sweet bike tho, no regret's buying it I'm more than happy to do a write up on polishing, i'll be doing the filler cap tommorow night so i'll get some pics and write one up - it's a simple, if time consuming/tiring job, so anyone can do it, best of all for under a tenner sterling! **and took less than 2 hours** anyway a quick pic of my old beast so long as no one minds! **it's an old picture but it still looks pretty good in it's early stages, with a next to new back tyre might i add!**
welcome my man, im just across the pond in ireland! thats one sweet rs125 you have. im selling my yamaha tdr 125 (sob sob) tomorrow night to buy an fzr thats the same colour as yous. that polishing looks well cool, i was just asking the boys this week about any mods or tuniny they'd done, im going for braided brake hoses and i think a polished top yolk would be next!!
cool, don't think i've ever seen a tdr on the road before! the polishing is seriously easy, especially on something flat like a yoke etc. i'm interested to know if anyone's put swingarm bobbins on yet? i'll be drilling & tapping some in tommorow aswell.
Welcome Oliefrz, Your bike is in a fantastic condition Have fun and stay safe
yeah the tdr 125 is a sweet machine, two strokes are great fun, a different riding experience altogether, and unfortunatly a dying breed due to increasingly harsh emissions laws. the tdr wouldnt be even nearly as fast (or as cool lookin!) as your rs but it has a YPVS (Yamaha Power Valve System) which makes things more interesting. il have my final ride on her this evening coming home from work, il make sure to drive her extra hard for the last time. and this time tomorrow il hopefully be on my 3 hour ride across ireland on my 93' 3ln like yours!! have a look at it www.gess.ie/sean happy ridin'
Jees, i dont think ive ever seen a RS125/RS250 with so few stickers on it! Thats completely what threw me... i was thinking SV650R with race glass (judging by the headlights) but then i saw how little meat there was on the bike. I noticed the rear bum pad on it, then realised that it was indeed an Aprilia. Thats a very neat RS125, and almost as neat a FZR. I'm sure you'll have the entire bike gleaming in no time. As for polishing the top plate of the yolk... mine is scratched to buggery so i might have to try and do that aswell!
Gidday Oliefzr, Welcome to the forum. You'll love riding the fzr and already you have her looking good. Look forward to hearing how you polished up.
man i hope you guys ride as hard as you polish!!! Those pics put my bike to shame but then i just like riding the thing, am pretty hopeless when it comes to scrubbing her up. But then again, I'll be looking to sell in about 6 months so i'll be after all the tips then!!
Hello lea, welcome to fzr 250. hahaha they're cheeky aye!!!!!
