Hello all, i figure you heard bout my stack on mothers day. I was carted off in the ambo's to maroondah hospital where they did a lil operation on my knee to clean it all up and repair a damaged tendon. Im out now and hobling about on crutches. i have mixed feelings about getting on the bike, but at the moment it looks like i will be on the road by the time the bikes fixed, so im tipping about 2-3 months. A couple of pics for new riders indicating why you should not try to keep up with more experienced riders. And let me say i got off incedibly lightly.

Good to hear your OK sobil! its good you can recall the crash, so you know what you did wrong. My crash I dont remember jack.. still dont.. just woke up in hospital.. how lucky was i.. just came out with a gash over the neck but not so deep. Now that you have discovered you are not immortal hehe.. im sure you will learn from this and improve. It dosen't matter which way you take.. if you wanan ride again or not to.. its your choice and everyone will respect that. Do what is best for you Take care mate, and get well soon.
Well, now you are mortal. It took something like that to let me know that I'm not going to live forever. My Story: I was going too fast on a bike a barely knew. Short of it was, boke my leg in 2 places, compound fracture, Tiba (shin bone) was exposed. Nearly lost my foot. 13" (34cm) Stainless rod in my leg for a year. Not pretty, and I still have the rod. Advice: Never give into the pressure of having to go fast. Unless you are on a track you cannot prove anything to anyone. Respect: There is a lot of it going on. You respecting the bike, yourself and your abilities You respecting others and their abilities, and them respecting you and your abilities. If none of these are in line, look at who you are riding with, and "who" includes yourself. Conclusion: I hope that you do not give up riding. Learn from this, grow from the knowledge. This sport has one of the largest brotherhoods and followings in the world. I has some significant moments and suprises as well as distress and misfortune. For me, the better out weighs the worst. If you do decide to give up on the sport, I wish you the best of luck in what ever future endevors you so pursue. Get well soon!!!
Great advice. Just gotta get an ftp program that doesn't run on a trial..and ill post the pics up on this thread
Glad that you are back here typing! I agree with the others - the sport is great, but incidences like this can really make one think about the sport. I hope you continue as motorcycling can always use more members, but understand if you choose not to.
OOUUUCCHH!!! woah....good to see youre still up and about... stay safe people simon
All the BEST to you Sobil, whatever you decide. You never know, in this life we may get to ride together yet !!! Edna
just a stupid question here, is that a suzuki might boy on the right hand side of the pic|? man i love those things
Yes it is. There is actually two of them. rusting away unfortunately, i would love to see them on the road, but financial restraints have the pinned at the moment
A new couple of pic for y'all The doctor said that the physio would slowly work it to 45 degrees over the next week and the to 90 degrees two week after that. that was yesterday. I could be riding by the end of the month. =]
Take it easy dude; an extra week of fixing and polishing up the bike will be an extra week you can let it heal. I know the doctor's always tell you not to do dangerous stuff (and one doctor actually had a hissy fit when i said i had a bike acco) but the more healing time you give it the less chance it'll come back to haunt you later on. To have a slight pain in that knee for the rest of your life every time to you bend it at a certain point just cos you got back on the bike too quickly is not something i'd want to contend with. Anyway, congrats on getting back up & going... and look forward to seeing that 2KR alive and screaming again soon.
hey man, don't wind us 2kr owners up, ok? Just 'cos we ain't got a fat frame doesn't mean we don't cut it. Ok, seriously, no 2kr vs. 3ln factions, ok!! There's few enough of us as it is! Note: 2kr's get the chicks
