    HI Guys and Girls,

As you will see from my previous posts I have inherited my sons FZR250 (not really I paid for it in the first place) hahaha.
I was going to do a 400 conversion but over the last couple of days Iv'e been thinking that maybe this is not the way to go for me. I am now middle aged (with the middle aged spread to proove it) and a 250 is really too small.

I might be better to sell this bike and buy an older classic (revisit my youth).

This bike I have is quite straight, registered (just, runs out soon) new tyres, wheel bearings etc but the motor is smokey. It needs at least a top end rebuild.
Anybody have a clue what to ask for it or is anybody interested in buying it.

    Cheers

    Graham

Depends what the cause of the smoke is..could be easy to fix..could be expensive. If the body is in good cond, u might get 2,500 depending on how bad the smoke is...

I had a smoke problem with my bike..I put some penrite oil in it..I think it was 50w or 60w....and it fixed it up a beaut...

    Smokey motor

HI, Thanks for the reply. Yes, you are right. I have spoken to 2 mechanics over the last couple of days, one of them an ex employee in Canberra. His tip was to drain the oil and flush it with a high detergent concentrate flushing oil or even diesel fuel. Run it for about 20 minutes at high idle. Then replace the oil with something like Penrite.
They have both had sucess with fixing smoke blowing problems in this way.
So I guess anybody that buys this bike might get either a normal bargain or a big bargain. I only want $1500.00 for it as it is.

    Cheers

No pics as yet but I am going to take some this week.. The bike is sprayed all yellow with no striping as yet. New front tyre, good back tyre, new wheel bearings. It is just running out of rego now (early June).

I'll post some pics as soon as I have them

    Cheers

    Graham
