Assuming a 3LN... just a hint of advice speeeedy, i wouldn't go touting that you've got a RR. ;) As has been debated in the past, the R-RR-RRR is just a PR-wank war that unfortunately Yamaha thought they'd join in on.

If there's another nice day like it was Wednesday/Thursday then i'll be heading for the GOR. Although i'll post it up if im intending on doing it. ;)

Hey mate, my fzr is a 3ln3 and the differnce between the single r and double r is greatly noticable. The double r's have a higher back seat and about 4 more horsepower than single r's ;)

im not to sure about the seat thing but a few people i have been speaking to is that there is a FZR-rrrrrrrrr which actually revs out to 20K. *shrugs*

best off refering to it as a 3ln3 as we have a better idea as to what it is.

Come down to coffee nights im a regular and love to talk fizzer. met roderz yesterday. i want a thundercat now. ROFLMAO.

welcome aboard. =]

As for the RR having 4 more hp than the single R, everything i've ever seen on the FZR has no change in power output between the 3LN-2 and the 3LN-3.
Also, as for the higher back seat - AFAIK they changed the seat arrangement (and locking mechanism) between the 2KR/3LN-1 and the 3LN-2/3.

Hmm... mind checking the compliance plate for us and see if it came from Southside Dismantlers or Sumoto? ;)

Anyway, instead of arguing about the supposed performance difference between adding another R sticker on the side; why not come on up to the hills and enjoy a day out in the fresh air. I'll also see if i can haul along a certain mate on a GPX, then see how much of a difference 4hp makes. ;)

As for the coffee nights, go check out the Netrider Forums. Friday night coffee is down at Southbank just outside BearBrass. It USED to be that people actually drank coffee there... now it's a meet point to bitch and whine about MartyH, Groberts & Mouth's latest gripes. ;) Join the group, go to coffee and you'll have a great time.

Speaking of which, i really oughta get along and finally get to meet ya SOBIL. I've just been so feckin busy with work, uni & other BS i haven't had a chance to come along in a while now!

Hmmm

My fizzer is a late model, not sre what year but it is a 3ln3 and it has 2002 compliance and i got it from a place in llydale that specializez in grey imports. i would love a ride and i will be coming to the coffe nights. At the moment my fizzer is in the workshop after a smash cos some dickhead went through a stop sign and i t-bonned him. at least he has to pay for the 3 grand damage. But i might be getting a rental bike for free tommorow so if i do i will be up at southbank.

The one with even less than the usual quota of fairings for an FZR?

Btw, the joke goes something like this...
First FZR with netrider was Roderz; he binned it in a major way on GOR and it was fighterised.
Then me. Nuff said - i usually ride with less than the full quota of fairings. ;)
Then SOBIL... less than full quota. ;)

So feel free to bring down a slightly beaten FZR and keep the trend up.
The first time i rocked up to a Netrider gig, my bike was blinged up in a major way, polished & shiny. They didn't know what hit them. Now it's just another one of 'them.'

LOL, which bit of roderz bike wasnt that bad?
Every time i caught up with him another piece of bodywork had fallen off or cracked; and the modification plans were getting longer and longer.

Admitedly, it was still a Fizzer; and still went like a Fizzer!!! So that's all that mattered.

Good thing!

It sounded like a honky-tonk-rip-snorting-FZR! They have a fairly unique sound to them when you compare them to the ZiXeR's & CBRRRRR's. It also had fussy carbs, drank more fuel than a portugese 'lady of the night'*.

Best of all, even after all the abuse he gave it; it just kept on screaming along! I love my Fizzer.

* edited to be more subtle
