Hello. I have some problems with my bike. 3LN3. I never need to use the choke, and the bike runs really fine when cold. But when it get warm it will not run good in low rpm`s. It stops when i release the trhottle, and then i need to run the starter in about 10 to 15 sec to get i started again. It runs fine on high rpm`s. I checked the carbs and cleaned them, adjusted the valves but nothing helps. It seems to me that it runs rich ??? Maybe to high float level? Someone know an easy way to adjust the float height ?? NoFear
If you do a search you will probably find something on this. Stalling when the bike is hot or difficulty restarting the bike when hot has been fixed by adjusting float height in the past. I have never had the need to adjust the floats myself though. Maybe someone else can enlighten you a bit more. Check the 400 manual and see what it has to say.
I have found several topics about the same. But everyone tells to adjust the float height, but they don`t say how .. <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!-- s --> So if someone can explain to me, i would be greatful..

Thanks, thanks and thanks. Really a good web page you have there. Good explainations to. Do you happen to know what the height should be for the 250 ? 24 mm, same as yours ? NoFear
I was just using that site as a reference for you. Gives a good explaination of carbs in general. I, myself have a FZR1000, the web page that I directed you to is about the FZR600. Being that the FZR250 manual is nearly non-existant, you get information where you can. I would check the float heights as they are to see if you are in the 24mm range, 14mm range or something totally different. Others have already done this on the 250 and know first hand. Getting in there is 1/3 the battle. Identifying and correcting the problem is the other half. I just come by because some of these guys were always on my board causing problems.
When my mechanic was playing with it he was just using trial and error. If no one else can come up with some numbers you could start with the ones for the 400 then start experimenting. The numbers are at the bottom of page 7. http://www.fzr250.com/attachments/fzr400/03_FZR400_Service_Manual_Ch23.pdf
