Hey Guys, I went for rides on both Saturday and Sunday last weekend and on both days I came across accidents. On Saturday I was on the old road and the road was closed because of an fatal accident.
This is from www.news.com.au
"At Mount White, north of Sydney, a motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision with another bike rider on the Pacific Highway at about 10.45am (AEST) Saturday."
Then on Sunday I was out at the Royal National Park and a guy on a cbr250 came off on a very twisty downhill section of the road. He looked ok maybe a broken leg or something because he looked although he was still lying where he landed. There were several cars and motorcyclists stopped to assist the guy and I passed ambulance a couple of minutes later.
Also I read this in the news article
"ACT police are seeking witnesses to an accident in the Canberra suburb of Flynn on Friday night in which an unidentified motorcyclist died."
For me it reminder to take it easy and ride to your abilities.
Sorry for the doom and gloom on a monday morning.

FZR250.com was about the last motorcycle forum that i frequent where there aren't constantly 'Rider Down', and 'Another one bites the dust' threads. Whilst i'm not complaining at you FLETCH, it's just not really something that needs to be posted.

We are all riders, we all know the risks, and as the majority here are 250 noobs & noobettes occasionally things get a little out of hand. Some sound advice though; stay safe... perhaps not riding would be better.

My apologies for snapping so quickly on this topic, but my time over at Netrider has taken it's toll and developed an intollerance for threads like this.

Sorry I never knew it was a problem.
But can I just say that nobody should feel that they shouldn't post something in fear that it has been posted before or it may piss someone off.

This is just my opinion, Everyone is entitled to there own opinion. On the other hand this is how wars start.
The harsh realities of motorcycling were hammered home last week when a 36 year old collegue of mine(not a novice in any sense of the word) had a head on. Car meets Fireblade = Stay in intensive care.
Incidently, completely his own fault. And although nobody likes hearing about these instances for fear of it could be you next.**** HAPPENS.
It's in how you deal with it personally.
I also acknollege that everyone takes their life in their own hands when you start the motor, but quite honestly, its the pursuit of such "dangerous" activities that stops me from putting a gun to my head as life without exicitement just seems totally pointless. EVERYBODY DIES.[/img]

See Koma I dont bother too much with netrider forums, as I find them too damn big..it seems to take hours to get through them lol.
But odd reminders like these I think can be a good thing..because they help bring you back to the reality of things.

We are all noobs, and we all know the risks, but being young and naive also has its downfalls. I know myself when im on certain roads you think your on a racetrack. You dont think that there could be a dangerous hazard around the apex of the corner that could kill you. But it happens so often.

Very true, being made aware of our vunerability as human's once in a while is very healthy; and keeps us in check.

I still like the Netrider forums as there's always something going on. I'll get down to coffee when my bike decides to play nice again. I've got a few write-up "how-to's" to come out of this one.

In the near future, look for a how to on the following:-
- DIY Air filter on the cheap
- Clutch replacement
... aswell as a bit of a run down on what it's like riding with an FZR250 with 2 teeth down on the front sprocket (normally 17, now 15). ;)
