    How cliched is this. Cruising on my way to work, probably half asleep then all of a sudden, a guy in convertible (black) BMW locks up right in front of me at a pedestrian crossing for a girl that is already halfway across (in Queensland, so she is crazy to begin with)! So, I luckily manage to swerve to the right & check oncoming traffic, then almost lock it up myself and miss the girl by a few inches...I look to my left and the guy was on his mobile and hadnt seen the girl or me till the last minute...I give him the finger, a toot and mouth some abuse for good measure and then blast off full of pumping adrenalin.

    Moral to the story. Be aware and scan 'everything' all the time as the car in front is bound to do something stupid and I should have seen the girl on the crossing myself and compensated accordingly.

    P.S oh yeah, this girl just calmly keeps walking across the crossing like nuthin ever happened. Real life is amazing sometimes...

    Take care on the roads.
    Nate

    Glad to hear you came out without a scratch!

    And your moral - always good advice. On a bike you should be ready to react to what another driver is about to do before the driver actually knows he/she is going to do it. As a rider you can often see over or around the car in front, so watch their portion of the road for them (and you). This is one of the reasons i won't ride even after having one beer (or scotch as the case may be), or when i am over-tired. The actions and reactions that I am capable of when at 100% may end up being what saves my life...

    Good to see you stayed upright after riding too close to the BMW.

    Hey Nate,

    I'm also in Brissy, what FZR do you own? I've already seen 3 of them around. I've got a black 88 2kr.

    Regards,
    Damien.

    Hey Byz,

    I'm around Indro, dark blue minus L&R fairings... <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

    We should see if we can organize a Nebo/Cootha ride sometime for all the Brisfizzers.

    hahaha, just saw your post, sorry nate. Sounds good mate. I'm pretty flat out with my thesis and work, and heading off to South America in a couple of months, but would like to hear if anything comes up.

    Got a racing course planned in Brazil, should be interesting. Will get back to everyone on that. Anyway, let me know if you or any other brissy rider plans something.

    Cheers,
    Damien.
