I'm starting to look around a bit...but I've gotta say, I'm not too keen on the colour scheme. I tend to steer clear of resprayed vehicles if I can - there's usually a reason for a respray eg. it's had a big acco...

Not necessarily, some people just like a custom paint job.

Yeah man, that bike has been hotted up big. It looks like a pearlescent paint!

Notice how its green side-on, but on edges its purple? If thats not some weird camera fault, then that's a pearly paint. Verry expensive.

    I'd want that bike.

You're not too keen on the colour scheme?? really? 99 of every 100 people who see this bike in the flesh, being bike fans or not, comment on how much they like the colour. Guess you may be in the minority.....

In regards to a big acco.... No it hasnt. Proper inspection of the bike will reveal this. It has the original muffler in excellent condition and the aftermarket one has one small (ie 10 cent coin size) scratch on it where the previous owner dropped it in his driveway. The blinkers, often a very good indication of crash damage, are the original items, showing no signs of damage, same as the engine casings, another good sign of crash damage. The small knock over it had, combined with the regular wear and tear of near on 10 years of riding, plus the ability to access a terrific spray painter, prompted the owner to spray the bike. Hell, Im sure he wouldnt mind if you wanted to take the fairings off and inspect for signs of frame damage/repair or to see that the fairings haven't been plastic welded.

I know modified bikes aren't everyones cup of tea, I myself prefer totally original examples, but please don't insinuate that this one has been in a major acco without first enquiring.

FiZzR- an idea may be to look at the bike and if you dont like the colour but like the ride maybe purchase a set of stock fairings and sell these to someone wishing to have a show bike???

    EXACTLY!!!

Spot on TiMBuS. The paints called monte carlo magic and its applied over a black base coat. It is very expensive and in differing lights it has about 7 different colours, depending on angle.

Faz: hey, no, I didn't mean to insinuate it actually has been damaged. But it's a fact that colour change resprays are often done after an accident - makes sense because you've gotta get the work done anyway, and is the perfect excuse to change the colour if you want to.

That said, it's a nice looking bike, and by all means it may very well be a pristine example as you say...with the low k's I'm sure it won't have much trouble selling for the asking price.

    Good luck with it...

... and all this time of looking at the pics and i couldn't figure out what was wrong with it! It has no chain guard!

Congrats on the sale by the way. I'm sure it'll make someone very happy (if that's your thing).
