Hey everyone ! Im Dan from western Sydney , been riding for a little over a year now . My first bike was an Aprilia RS125 great fun. I now own a Megelli 250R. I usually ride with SWR wednesday nights. Peace!
Hey Dnay Welcome to the forum, SWR, is that South West Riders ? How do you find the Megelli after owning an Aprilia, if you want any performance upgrades , make sure you PM vershaw123  Cheers Chris
Hey Mate , its Sydney West Riders lol ! Its a different ride the aprillia was firmer and much more responsive, seating i found was a little more tucked(which i preferred) than the megelli . Performance wise the little 2 banger definately owns it. I got offered a good price for it after i rebuilt the head so i took it with the intention of buying a ZX-2R unfortunately i couldnt find one at the time and ended up with this thing. I was due to upgrade this april to a full size bike(had my eyes on a daytona) as i would have had my fulls but lost my license end of last year. Yea ive the read posts on the megelli forum about upgrades etc , not really wanting to mod it though but thanks. Only thing ive done is change tyres. I've kept mine clean , well maintained and working on a tail tidy thats about it for the little Megelli . Are there many Megelli riders on here? Dan
Hello mate...welcome to the forum  Where do u go for these rides? .....up Parramatta road and back?  Any photos of your bike adventures?
2 megelli,s and ride every fine day. rain worries me when on 2 wheels, megelli,s have a few ideosynchracies but basically are rugged. any advice just ask.
Hey mate thanks :occasion14: :occasion14: lol no we do the usual rides : bondi via city , bells line, wisemans , national park , palm beach , waragamba etc. ] http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/rr81/danny_boi_007/190219_10151246698645891_104547048_n.jpg[/img]]
Nice , i get my license back in april so keen to ride with you , rains ok its not full pelt or hailing. Yea i've filtered through the issues with the meg the first 3 months i owned it. Heres whats been changed : font/rear wheel bearings , front/rear brake assemblies , ignition barrel , new battery (old one dropped a cell) , intake issue seperating from head. I've now clocked 6000kms and serviced it runs smooth , starts fine . Quick question with the air filter does the take need to move ? I tried getting at it and seems the cover doesnt want to come off?
seat off, tank off, 6 screws off plastic cover, slide cover off. move plastic locking ring off. remove screw holding plastic filter holder. foam is normally ok.
Looks like u have a good bunch of riders there  I grew up on the North Shore of Sydney so Wisemans,Bells and the northern beaches were a regular ride back then also ;D Back in the day the only way u could buy a beer on a Sunday was to be a "traveller" and be a certain distance away from your home....and then u had to buy a meal also to be served alcohol. So Wisemans and Windsor were always on for a spirited ride, a meal and a belly full of beer .....of course there was no DUI then either. olice: The last time I had a pie from Harrys it would have looked like this.....
dnay, allen bolt needs removal around ignition lock, lift up and back as 2 lugs go through rubbers, also side black bits under tank off, 2 triangular ones pull off, long ones held at back by allen screw then pull off. turn off petrol tap[horizontal]lhs and disconnect fuel sender wires on rhs. while tank off ckeck tappett clearance [6thou inlet,8thou exhaust] as closed tappets will make hard hot starting. i am going to ckeck my tappetts every 2 thou klm to see how they go.
Thanks man , yea i've pulled the bike apart a few times but thanks anyway for the how to. Good thinking with the tappets may be worth while looking at.
