    Anyone know any good insurance companies which covers bike for third party + fire and theft. Cause AAMI dosen't cover bikes and NRMA only does third party or comprehensive. $1007 for comprehensive after my 65% discount! <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( -->

    Cheers,

    Third party for an FZR250 with RACV is ~$125-235.
    Third party F&T was some silly amount about the same as what Squog quoted (well i think it's silly for a bike worth $3k!).

    Western QBE is who i've been pointed towards for apparently a 'better deal'... but am yet to try them out.

    For the bike or your helmet? The sheild for my Arai is more expensive than the one for my FZR.

    You say that... and i've always wondered what they actually do in terms of 'windshield replacement' for a bike. When i last got a quote and they offered it to me, the guy on the phone laughed and said 'oh you don't have a windshield... anyhooo...'

    My first post <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) --> how exciting.

    SGIO come with a figure of $1038 comprahensive to insure for $5k and $740 market value. 3rd party came to $95. Not sure if it makes any difference but i have two cars also insured with SGIO.

    Swann wants $788 to insure the bike for $5k or $165 3rd party.

    by the way i have a '90 model.

    I did an online quote with Shannons for the FZR250 and got $180 TP and $207 comp ( 50yo and rating 1 - Thats me )
    $248 TP and $274 ( 25yo and rating 1 - that might be some of you )
    However that was a max of $3000 cover and $350 excess

    The advantage of being an old bugger. <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_roll.gif" alt=":roll:" title="Rolling LoL" /><!-- s:roll: -->

    I'm 21 having rating 1(10 more months and i'll have rating 1 for life <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->) and am insured via Suncorp for third party fire and theft. This costs me about $205 a year. Full comp was $500ish...i didnt have the extra $300 at the time.

    Correct - rating one is usually around 5 years no claim discount (65%).

    Suncorp do a wicked deal on insurance, i insured my fzr for $4700 but i only got the market value when it was burnt to the ground which was $3100 still not complaining, i only paid around $300 for 3rd party fire and theft.

    i tried to register with suncorp but they dont do it in my area in sydney. Still trying to find a company that does third party insurance with theft and fire. Comprehensive is just too much.

    Im starting to think it dosent exist in sydney.

    £250 = $580-600.

    For just third party fire & theft i guess that's alright.
    Over here we don't get offered theft as part of the regular third party, just fire.
