Quick question for the more experienced riders...

I came back for a ride the other night and noticed the front left wheel nut (not sure if it is called that; the nut that screws on the front axle and keeps the forks connected to the wheel!), was missing!

Don't know how long it has been missing, but i'm a bit worried to take it for a ride without it.

Question: What is this nut called, and what size do i need to get for the 88' 2KR, and where can i get it from?

    Thanks in advance,
    Damien.

Hmmm I do belive the 2KR is ment to NOT have a nut on the front axle...

I have seen people stick nuts there and some times I have seen them put nuts with the wrong thred too...

Mine has no nut - the hole in the fork is threaded and the bolt only protrudes thru about 2mm

    Yes.

Very strange design which doesn't take into account Human Factors!

The axle bolt is clamped by the 8mm? allen head bolt on the right hand side, can't come loose.

not sure if i'm missing something here but i took the front wheel off my 2kr about 6 months ago to take the brake disc off and i didn't have to remove any allen bolts or anything - just unscrewed the main bolt (which IS the axle) and it slid straight out. Same when doing it up. you got me worried now...
