This morning when pushing my bike outside i noticed a strange rattle front. Upon inspection i noticed that some of the spring washers on the floating disc have started to work their way out and that the disc is rattling on the hub. Is this a problem or does it pose no issue?

When you say that they've 'worked their way out' is there any possibility that they are actually going to undo themselves?

As far as im aware, a floating disc means there's movement between the carrier and the braking rotor. This little bit of movement might over time increase as the constant on and off forces of braking moving the braking rotor about on the carrier.

I don't see it as a problem, and if anything because your disc is a little bit loose (ie, full floating as opposed to semi floating) your probably noticing more bite in your brakes. <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->

I'd keep an eye on them and nothing more.
Just include it in your pre-big-ride checklist.

(You have a pre-big-ride checklist don't you? You should!)
