How to? <=Do a compression test.

    Just a question, how would I go about doing a compression test? The guys over at yamaha suggested i do this first before taking it to them to tune the carbies.

    Buy a screw-in type compression tester. Remove all the spark plugs and check by attaching the tester to each cylinder in turn. Crank over the engine a couple of revs and record the numbers.

    Give those to the shop and post them up here.

    finger test... just stick your finger in the spark plug hole (not all the way!!)

    compare the preasure b/w the cilinders... and possibly loose a finger or two!!
