Hey fellas,

Having seen that Kawasaki Ninga that lhnova made on 3Dmax ( http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread. ... ge=1&pp=15 ), Im kinda keen to try making one of a good ole FZR 250.

Ive been talking with Jake from this site (whos idea this was) and I think I'll be able to, but using a program that isnt quite as advanced as max - and although I have Viz, its quite a steep learning curve and I think Im too impatient...

Ok, here is a pic of something quick...

the picture quality isnt the best, because the program Im using is supposed to be for Architectural stuff - ie. nothing this small.

The workaroud for this is that I create everything twice the size it is in real life to get more detail.... hmmm.

Also, the program Im using is going to be really sketchy when it comes to the fairings, does anyone want to make them for me? haha, they're the hardest part of the bike to model aswell...

ike, the quality is horrible... working on it....

and since it was made Ive gone out to my bike and actually taken measurements, so anything that looks out of proportion should be fixed soon...

Wow!!!

I saw the thread about the Ninja, and thought the same thing - I wish I could do one for the FZR-250

Any thoughts on doing two variants? one for the 2KR & one for the 3LN? ;) ;) ;) ;)

Yeah - the fairings are gonna be hard

KEEP GOIN M8! looks awesome!

Yeah man I'd be keen as to do two versions but Im thinking getting one right first could be a better idea. Although, I think the single headlights on the 3lns are too good to ignore, so I might put one of them on this bike rather than a 2kr... or model one of each, hmmmm

But as for the frame, I actually like how the 2kr Genesis frame (I think its called that) exposes the motor more... Im thinking that the fat aluminium Deltabox isnt all that pretty really.

Im leaving the fairings to last though, so Im hoping I'll have most of this programs itches scratched by the time it comes to the fairings...

Anyway, Im trying to break the back of this project by modelling the engine early, here is a pic of the head (no bolts or anything, they'll be put on later)

bloody eck man!

That's coming along nicely!

I'm just imagining a few months down the track, we could have animations of how to take things apart on the bike! That would be a real help to the people who don't know too much about pulling them apart (myself included!)

Keep goin m8!

can't WAIT to see the radiator you'll do for us!

haha, thanks for the encouragement man

Yeah animations would be awesome! but Im not sure you can animate things in this program. I know you can do fully rendered walkthroughs though, definately a few of those I think...

Radiator is gonna come after the engine I think, its going to look cool with all the tubing and stuff. Been working on the carb and exhast openings...

I had a little play with some materials last night.... not going to easy I dont think...

What program are you using to draw this in?
I know that if i were to import a 3ds or similar model into Viz then i can very easily do an exploded animation.

Love your work, keep it coming. Couldn’t think of a better subject either, except maybe a 3ln3.

Jest keep crackin at it you'll make yamaha have record sales on their 2krs again

Yeah it is the 2kr, you reckon I should do the 3ln? I was thinking of doing the 3ln front fairing, but I dont rate the Deltabox frame to high... perhaps I could do one of each... if I lived forever...

haha, keep talking it up Squog! Yep the carbies will be a little tricky but I have the manual which does some nice exploded stuff, I'll hopefully be able to arrange them alright... if only it was as easy to balance them as it is to model them!

Think I'll leave that to the mechanic pro's though, I'll keep to the computer nerd stuff...

ps. Just been doing some walkthroughs and flybuys of houses for work and they're looking flippen tight.... doing some for the bike model will be awesome
