fzr 250 question on model years

    Hello there guys i am interrested in a fzr 250 and would just like to know what year yamaha stoped manufacturing the fzr 250's.

    I am fairly sure the 3ln-7 was produced in 1994 and that was the last model to be made.

    A local bike shop say they have a 2005 fzr 250 ,are they trying to rip me off. they say it is an import from japan but from what u say the last fzr was made in 1994.

    Ripping you off.
    Chances are it was complianced in 2005 and that's the date thats stamped on the compliance plate. There should be a build date plate also on the bike... and that'll be the REAL date.

    it was probably COMPLIANCED in 2005.

    I think there's a sticky topic in one of the other forums that is called "A brief (possibly imprescise) history of models" - have a look through the links on that thread to get and ID on the " '05 FZR-250".

    Yup... mine even says '1990' on the rego details.

    my 1999 2KR was complianced 1996 and on the date on the rego says it is a '96 yamaha
