Plastic Caliper thing

    HI I went for a ride the other day and when I got home I noticed that the cover on my one front brake caliper was missing... the little plastic thing that you use to check if the brakepads are worn or not.. anyone know If I can get a new one from somewhere

    go to a wrecker that is wrecking an FZR id say it would be real cheap

    dust cap

    the plastic thing you are talking about is just a dust cap for the caliper. i lost mine months ago and the yamaha mechanic i spoke to said not to worry about replacing it if i didn;t want to cause it aint that important. I haven't had any troubles with it not being there.

    I would highly recommend replacing it.

    In an example where one caliper had the plastic cover and one didnt; the one without would always have issues with dust and grime binding the caliper pistons. The other caliper was almost flawless.

    Coincidence?

    Do a budget job on it.

    Some sort of tape (duct, speed, masking) over it. Keeps the dust out.

    I just want to get it so my bike is complete again.. as It doesnt look complete without it... next question anyone know any good bike wreckers around NZ.. Aucklandish area

    You could try Buckets 'n Bits (or something) who are down in Upper (or Lower) Hutt, they wreck a few Fzr 250's I think. I got some good stuff from them, although they are kinda expensive...

    or you could try pm'ing rentonpeter from this site, he could have bits lying around...
