    Hey,

I'm just wondering what are my options for producing a nice tone for my bike exhaust?

Now, I'm not doing this to be a hoon etc, I just love my bike and would love for it to sound better instead of that tinny/high pitch sound.

I realise that one day I'll move on to a bigger and better bike like a GSR-750 or a Ducati (gotta love them) but yea, what are my current options?

I was told $400 by my mechanic, but I'm just after a cheap solution, something like $200 just to stick on for a nice sound? $200 is how much my friend paid for his car exhaust (cat back) to be done, very nice, but what about a bike?

I got a canon from Egay for about $50 and the strap was $30 and some thing like $100 to fit and make the link pipe

Your going to need to factor in more $$$ than just the exhaust, brackets and fitting. If you change the flow characteristics of the pipe too much then you'll also need to adjust the carbs to compensate for the increase in air flow.

Your never going to get a deeper throatier note out of the FZR250, but with a nice straight through pipe you will get a very loud 'mosquito with a megaphone' kinda tone. It all depends how much you want to spend and what you want to achieve; but after reading that you don't want that 'tinny/high pitched noise'... unfortunately thats the sound the FZR250 makes!

Mine with an R1 pipe sounded nice.

Speaking of which, I've got a pretty good condition R1 pipe sitting in my roof, a titanium one too, care to throw me an offer?

An R1 pipe on a FZR250 is like an elephant riding a pocketbike.
    Why? Oh why?

If your really keen on getting a throatier note out of your pipe, you could always remove it... dismantle it then give it a bafflectomy, aswell as remove the damping material in it.
