hiya all

My partner and I have 3 bikes between us. Mine are are an fz750 and anFjr1300, hers is the fzr250.
We both use autocom pro7 intercom systems with icom uhf radios for inter-bike communication. There is no problem with either of the bigger bikes but the fzr250 has a lot of noise coming through the power supply.
Has anyone had this problem, or any ideas on how to fix. I thought of noise suppression leads to the spark-plugs but can you simply unplug the leads like on a car? Also aany way of installing a noise suppression capacitor to the bike alternator like on a car. Any suggestions would be welcome....

No idea about any of the radio stuff.

But yes, you can just unplug the spark plugs like on a car.

And there's a couple of wires going from the alternator / magneto to the battery that are easily accessable - the magneto cover is on the right hand side down infront of the rear break lever (near where you put oil in). It doesn't have a gasket or anything, so you can unbolt it and see the wires and magneto easy enough.

What type of noise are you experiencing???? Is it a sharp buzzing noise that the rate of increases with rpm (spark plugs) or a whining noise (alternator) or something else ??? The remedies for these two are different.

I read in cars the 'hot earth' idea helps to suppress this sort of noise..

Thanks for your interest in the problem

I went to audio barn the other day and they had a noise suppreessor that wired straight into the power circuit being used by intercom unit.
the noise which by the way increased with the revs on the bike has now all but gone. There is a small amount of background noise still but nothing to worry about.

thought I had better let you all know the outcome
