HELP! Minimum front disc thickness?

    Hi there,

    I'm trying to find out the minimum thickness of a front disc. The bike is a 1988 Yamaha FZR 250 (2kr) with SINGLE front disc.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated as this info is impossible to find.

    minimum wear for the front rotors is 3.5mm and rear is 4.5mm

    nuh, had to replace my rear rotor when i got the roadworthy for my bike
    i ask the mechanic what was the wear limit for the front

    Most of the time the disc actually has the minimum thickness stamped on it somewhere.

    Just had a look and couldn't find anything printed anywhere on the disc?

    Not unusual on these bikes... my old 3LN-3 didn't have the min. thickness stamped on them either.

    The two numbers in the manual i have show 5.0 and 4.5 mm.

    If i recall the minimum thickness for the front rotor on a 3LN-3 was something like 3.5mm. 5mm is very thick for a brake rotor!

    just double checked minimum for front is 3.5mm and rear 4.5

    new front 4 mm new rear 5 mm
