Does the engine turn over at all? If it doesnt it sounds like the cam chain might have given up. Also once on my FZR the little wheel that the EXUP cables connect to and turn the EXUP vavle, came away from the EXUP vavle. This caused the motor to stop, however it would turn over and splutter.

Maybe some more info on what the engine does when you are turning it over etc would help.

when i go to turn it over it sounds like its trying to but just jamming so it cant turn over.
it was making a weird clicking/brushing sound (ie. ch ch ch ch ch) before it jammed and died on me <!-- s:-? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_Eyecrazy.gif" alt=":-?" title="Eye Crazy" /><!-- s:-? -->

Kind of sounds like the cam chain has broken and maybe put some valves into the pistons...then again I could be way off the mark. Hmmm It sounds like something is stopping the pistons from moving..

Any chance of you taking the cam cover off to check weither the cam chain is broken or not?

doubt that it's the timing chain
have you tried with the clutch in? also you could take the side cover off and try to manually crank it in the opposite way just to see wether it moves

chances are you could have introduced something small while doing the oil plug and air filter change.

might be part of a broken plug caught in the valve

Also...and I know this sounds obvious but, A flat battery will make the starter go click and thats the only sound you'll hear.

IF you can get the cam cover off, start there and look at the cam chain. Look for designation dots on the right end (brake side) of the cam shaft and dots on the came chain as well. These should all line up with the #1 cylinder at TDC.

take the plugs out and inspect them, should also make it easier to to crank/push the bike, have a mate help you and see whether you can hear noise coming from inside the cylinders.

the plugs are new so should be fine just had full service.
im worried that by trying to crank it or turn it over that ill be doin more damage than good, whatever is jamming it is jammin it real good it wont push forward at all in gear, What do you reckon?

i was thinking that the way you described what happened that maybe one of the plugs broke or that something small got sucked in when you changed the air fillter and has done some damage to the cylinders or valves.

    stranger things have happened......

yea it sounds very possible that it is somthing like that i'll try to have a better look at it when it stops raining altough it needs a valve grind (compression under 100psi) so mite be just as easy for machanics to have a look when they messing with the head

Possibly the wrong plugs were installed and have hit the pistions. (worst-case scenerio)

My bike was rattling for several weeks from the cam chain area but it usually stopped once warmed up, it did fix itself after a few weeks though.
