Congrats on the bike! I'd imagine in Norway an FZR250 would be quite a rare item.

Top speed for an FZR250 is usually dependent upon it's state of tune and condition of engine and chain. I'd say you should be looking at a little over 180km/h if it's working well. I remember doing a tiny bit under 190km/h on my old 3LN3 which hugging the tank and tucked behind the screen on a very very long straight.

Mine only goes to 155-160km/h...... don't think it would be because of the 2 down on the front sprocket though....

Heh, yeah... with a 15 tooth front sprocket if i recall my 3LN3 topped out at 165km/h. The time it took to get to that speed was quite impressive however!

I replaced my 17 tooth front sprocket with a 15 tooth sprocket and because of that my top speed has dropped.

sacrificing top speed for acceleration. I've dropped to 16 teeth, but after riding the 2 stroke it still feels a little gutless :p And I'm used to shifting gears every half second (thanks to the gearing on the dirty), so i'm thinking of dropping another tooth just for shits and giggles...

agree!

Yeah, i have been thinking about that to!
you dont need more than 150-160 anyway:)

I love th acceleration!
but i always have to fasten my chain
cause it's slipping all the time.

ok, this is somewhat "kind" of part of the topic.....

i have a fzr250 89 and i took it to 80k's first time (i just got my L's 2 weeks ago) and on the speedo, the light turned red...... is that a limiter? or a warning that i shouldnt be going more than 80k's cos i'm a Loser i mean Learner lol

it is only a little red light.
dont pay attention to it.
it is only there to "alert" you to the fact you are doing +80.
why yamaha put it on there is beyond me.
i would disconnect it if i could.
what colour scheme you got on your ride FOXY?

that red light at 80 is something that the jap manufacturers put in cos most of the speed limits there are 80... kind of a warning indicator... apart from that means nothing....
