i snapped my clutch cable on the lever side while riding, i ordered a new one, it looks to me that its about 2cm longer than the one i had on it, any way took the old one out put the new one in and now its heaps looser and wont go to nuetral/friction mode when i press the lever in or out

i understand that the new clutch cables are softer
you need to give the lever a little free play
you have to adjust the lever end and the clutch end

how far should the bottom clutch side lever rotate?

i can start it in neutral but as soon as i click it to 1st it stalls
the stand is up so that all good
i can still ride it by starting it in first and accelerating of changing gears via reving it and changing the gears
but i cant find my clutch in and cant change gears via clutch/gear lever

ive even put stiky tape around the gear lever so that its engaged and so that it will crank in 1st gear with the stand up than i start to pull the cable with my fingers to find the neutral point where the bike can start even if your in gear as long as the clutch is engaged although no luck the bike keeps moving forward indicating that the clutch isnt working, i have no friction point it like its not working at all

what am i missing here???? please help asap

you either broke the clutch lever switch or one of the wires has come off

I think what you are saying is that the inner cable is 20mm longer than the old inner in comparison to the outer sheath.

In this case you could try to take up the slack using a 20mm length of 1/4inch(6mm) copper tube. Cut a slot in it length wise and fit it over the inner and then use a pair of pliers to close up the slot so the cable does not pop out again.
This tube needs to be placed between the cable adjuster screw (at the lever end) and the outer sheath.

That should be an easy fix for your problem

Yup, I'm with Dave on this. I had the same problem when mine broke - I think they gave me one for an FZR400.

My solution tho was to take it back, have a rant, and get them to give me the correct one :p

i agree... if its 2cm longer, its obviously the wrong part... instead of compromising and risking the performance of your clutch, take it back and get the right part

i friend came and had a look he said to me it seems to me that you clutch plates are stuck that why you gear lever is so loose and that why you cant you the clutch so how much plates are in a fzr250rr and how much would it cost me to have them replaced

if you do it yourself its relatively cheap...

look here http://fzr250.com/viewtopic.php?t=1124&highlight=clutch

did you have the problem before you changed your clutch cable?

Too much slack in the cable. Get the right one.

The arm does rotate a long way.

yup. no need to jump to conclusions about the clutch plates, etc, till you get the obvious problem fixed.
