Are FZR 250s particularly known for high fuel consumption? Mine seems to guzzle it (I drive in the city a lot though).

I've already ran out of petrol when I usderestimated how much the reserve tank has. Perhaps Im just surprised (I drove scooters for years) at how much fuel a motorbike needs.

Im currently filling it after every 80kms or so. Is this normal?

i ride country/city and get 160 tank 30 reserve. i would suggest you are running rich. try cleaning the air filter and see what happens.

Take the tank cover off and you'll find the air box. Inside is the air filter, it can be accessed from the top. 4 screws if I remember rightly. If you have a foam filter you can wash the foam in clean petrol and then lightly oil it. If its a paper elelment try blowing it gently with compressed air. If it doubt replace it. they're not expensive.

just do a search for fuel consumption or something similar, there are heaps of fixes. Someone asked this question just the other day.
