    Hello everyone,
    I bought my FZR recently, its a 93 model. Its my first bike too. I read some of the threads and there’s some great information here. I have some questions though…The recommended engine oil is SAE 20W40, just wondering if I can use 20W50 instead as it is easily available. I have gathered that if the plug has been opened for cleaning it should be fixed back at a specific torque. At what torque do I tight the plug and what if torque wrench is not available? One thing I have noticed, a bit scary, is that the seat gets hot on the left side when I drive the bike at high speed, what could be the reason?? I have removed the seat for a look and everything seems okey.
    Heres a pic of my babe..

    Someone has put the brake line to your calliper on wrong. It should go straight up instead of down then back up.

    I used 15w50 in the old fizzer and never had troubles, summer or winter. 20w50 is fine.

    Take it for a run again, take the seat off and see what is hot. If you can’t find anything obvious it probably isn’t worth worrying about.

    I assume you are talking about the sump plug? You don’t need a fancy torque wrench to do it up. You will find the torque spec if you do a bit of searching. Do it up tight but it doesn’t take a gorilla to do up a sump bolt.

    Oh, welcome to the site!

    hi there welcome to the site. Nice bike. Not sure why it would be getting hot there, if anything the right side would be getting hot, i know mine does. But i like it, it keeps by butt warm.

    Isn't the Rad overflow on the left?

    Nope.

    The only things I can think of that are directly under the seat are the battery, fuses, and CDI. All of which I thought where central?

    Yes I was wondering the same thing about the brake line...would get it fixed. And I asked about the spark plugs. They need cleaning and I dont know the recommended plug gap and torque at which I should fix 'em back..

    My 10 cents:
    Is it possible the servo motor for the Exup is heating up at high speed?

    @r2guy: that bike looks fantastic, get it checked into a mechanics today <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
