Just thought I'd introduce myself.
After browsing through the forums for over a year (thats when I first got my my FZR -its a 2kr) and I finally got around to registering.
Thanks heaps to everyone whose ever posted. Its been a great help.

So, my bike;
Well, got it a year ago (maybe more), got mechanics to fix it, rode around with a mate on his opens, me on my L's. suddenly things got insanely busy, bike got put away. it stopped working, my mate on his opens went overseas, and its only now ive had time again to get back in to it. hopefully will have my open licence soon... depending on the budget.

The issues I've had;
(I'll post a bit more on the tech page about this cos I need a bit of help)
>>I've had problems with a flat spot at 10,000-ish rpm. Got a mechanic to clean the carbs - next time I hav to learn how to do this myself...
>>having a problem with the electrics, something is constantly running off the battery, and when I start getting to the top end of my taco, I blow my main fuse. which is so embarrasing. about 10months ago now i was out for a ride and there was this bus of tourist in front of me. so i knocked it back a gear, gave it throttle, caught up in no time to the bus, getting around it, reaching top of the revs and brrugh, my bike shuts down and i lose speed and pull behind the bus, and the tourist watch as i pull over on the side of the road.
>>got a new fuel pump and filter today. havent chucked it in yet.

Why FZR?;
I"m a total FZR- lover, I'm not the tallest person in the world so having the sleek fuel tank lets me ride without gettinga tummy cramp.
4strokes are so much easier to start (apparently hard to balance though, but I havent come accross that problem yet.)
and exup is exclusive to FZR's.
Oh, and its got a nice body.
Let me know if there are other awesome points I failed to note, I just love telling other ppl how perfect my bike is (when its going...)

And me;
Well, I'm not the most mechanically minded chick in the world (oh yea, foxy, now we hav a sistahood ), I didnt grow up in a world of fast cars, or engines. I'm new to all of this, learning stuff all the time. So plz forgive me if I ask a stupid question every now and again.
So, yea, I'm not the most fit person to be looking at motorvehicles and troubleshooting with engines but I'm doing engineering at UQ and joined the Fsae team last year and I know doing stuff with engines where I want to be.
I've just been accepted into a Japanese uni this year, not sure if I want to go yet cos I like being in here, but Im thinking I could own an Fzr with fewer K's on it than is around in OZ for cheap for a year and import it back. I have to look in to regulations and stuff on that. I reckon I'll go, I've got family in Japan that are getting old.

Well, thats about it for now I think.
It turned in to a pretty long post - sorry about that.
Cyas all around I guess. ;)

hey, welcome, good to see u joined up. i loved every bit of my time spent on the fizzer. even when i had some problems. it got me to learn so much, riding as well as some mechanical stuff. its a great bike to learn on. They are getting on with age but still seem to keep up.

i've recently upgraded to a gsxr 600. i dont know but theres just something i have always loved about the gixxer. have been spending quiet some time on it.

the poor fizzer is currently just sitting in the shed so i might just sell it. currently still debating the decision. see no point in keeping it since i wont ride it but hard to let go.

anyway, japan sounds like an enticing proposition.

enjoy the bike and keep safe.
