My bike is a 2kr i was wondering if you can put a 3ln screen on it.Will the bolt holls join up on the nose cone for it.
Ask the person selling it if thats possible. If they are worth their salt, they will know and/or allow you to try it on.
You can fit a 3LN1 windscreen on a 2KR but all other 3LN windscreens are longer at the front (The 2KR screen is shorter at the front).
there are 3 different sizes of screen for the fzr, not sure where they start and stop, i just remember 3 when i bought my aftermarket screen
I'm pretty positive that there are indeed three difference screens... 1. 2KR 2. 3LN-1 3. 3LN-3+ So no you can't really swap the screens as they simply won't fit.
I remember lots of useless things, and occasionally something worth while! That little tid-bit of info came about when i actually needed a new screen for my FZR250 and was doing the ring around speaking with a few people about what i was after. Aside from that i had my FZR250 for ~15 months and since then i've had my FZR1000 for more than that again. I've been working on bikes almost the entire time since i started riding (almost 3 years now), and i tend to pick things up especially if their mechanical quite quickly. Also given the FZR250 is still my favourite bike i do spend a lot of time helping people out with working on their FZR250's. My not-so-secret desire is to find an FZR400-SP and to absolutely modify and tweak it as far as i can go for my track day toy.
Did you see this bike? http://www.oroadsports.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15661 Not a 400 and by the looks of it sold.
Unfortunately the 600 ate too many of those Yamaha pie's and stacked on the kilo's like the FZR1000. The FZR400 is the absolute sweet spot, and especially when the SP rolled out of the factory with pre-Ohlins badged suspension gear (if that makes sense) it's an absolute weapon round the bends. Looks like a great trackie though for anyone considering getting their feet wet.
