I've been thinking of cleaning mine with a tooth brush and maybe some degresser. I let you know if it works.
Ok, i'll let you all in on my wheel cleaning technique... 1. Sponge down with soapy water. 2. Wipe down with kerosine to get rid of the hard to remove stuff. 3. Final wipe over with Mr Sheen will get every last spec off and make it nice and easy to clean next time. After you've done that if you Mr Sheen them once a week you'll always have nice shiny wheels!
Probably the hollows left by the rough casting of the wheels. The actual rims are machined and are smooth, but the spokes are a rough texture. You can use "truck wash" detergent (not sure of the brand) mixed with water, spray on with a spray bottle and wash off with water a few minutes later. This stuff contains caustic, so don't leave it on too long, but it is impressive stuff.
At this point in time I think it is a good idea to mention..... Don't get any of this stuff on your chain!!!!! (unless it is soapy water)
hey gave my rims a good scrub the otherr day found out there grey <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt=":shock:" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: -->
I have started to strip the outside of the rim.just guna leave the inside bit white.It will look good when it's done.
WD-40 is great for getting road grime off, lol. I've heard peoplesay it's not good for paint, but I've never had a problem. Black rims are the bomb.
