hold your clutch and revs constant and use your rear brake to slow down youll feel the bike wanting to pull and see how much more steady and control you have over the bike . now go out and practice

Can they even legally do that?

Is there an RTA test to get your P's? Or do you just show the certificate from passing the prac ride?

    HOT OFF THE PRESS

Just in todays paper - the Tasmanian Gov is going to introduce LAMS, same as NSW and SA already have. Commencing 1st JULY 2007

i think this LAMS is a bad idea

my friend got a huyosun (i think thats how you spell it) 650gt lerner aproved after having it for about a month he had a small run in with a street sign then a couple week later he wrote it off by running up the back of a car.....

now i know this could have happened on a 250 but i think he would have had a beitter chance of pulling out of these crashes if he had a liter bike

what im trying to say is lerners should have to ride bikes that are light till they have the experience it takes to ride a bigger bike

To have a couple of crashes like that, it just sounds like your friend is just not riding within his limits. The bike he was riding is only 20kg heavier than the FZR and with the restrictors in place would not have much of a performance advantage either. I reckon he would have crashed a FZR if he had been riding one in the same circumstances.

It's all about earning respect, dude.

I laugh at experienced riders that can't do a U-turn, or ride out of a carpack dragging their feet on the ground.

    Learn to control your bike.

I should've added a :p to my last post. In hindsight it came out harsher than expected, and was actually said with tongue in cheek.

Although it's true I find it amusing watching "experienced" riders take off slowly with their feet dragging.

I like LAMS. I reckon it's half the reason I'm still alive :p
Some people are slow learners (myself one of them, apparently), and it can take a few broken bones and dislocated shoulders before we learn the difference between "riding appropriately for what we can see", and "hoping the road ahead is clear".

IMO you're less likely to die from an accident on a 250 (that struggles to make 180km/h) than you are on a litre bike that will cruise at 200km/h without breaking a sweat. And IMO that means you're more likely to learn from those "lessons" than you are to die from them.
