    hey guys & gals i'm looking at a 1988 FZR250 and the guy has said it needs a new drive sprocket just wondering what sorta money i'm looking at for that?

    but you should need a new rear one if you need a new front one i think the rear goes for about $70

    are they hard to fit up???

    an hours work at most but youll have to take the back tyre off for the back one

    no need for that with the front one i just did my front one about 3 weeks ago its easy

    cool just one other thing (thanks for the help)

    As i am looking at buying this bike is there any thing else that this could be damage around that area coz of the sproket?

    maybe the chain but its nothing big

    i take it this is your first bike so ull find heaps of info on this site take some time out to look over this site ull find some forum on hear not sure where it is but it tell you what you should look for when buying a bike

    id be looking at the steering clutch brakes tyres but if you know what your looking for theres alot more then that try and get a service history proof of sale for parts dont just take there word on it!!!

    my sprockets and chain need replacing and have just bought both sprockets and chain for $150 from a yamaha dealer and no mates rates special price

    sound about right but im shore you can get chains that are more pricey like o-rings or higher strength chains last time i got a chain it cost about $60 but it was the cheapest one the shop had
