Well as i've hinted that i was looking around for my next bike i've put some money down on quite a bargain and i'm picking it up on Friday. So here's the fun... have a guess at what i'm picking up based on all my previous threads of umming and aahing over what to get.

A few hints to get you started...
1. It's a 1000.
2. It's a sportsbike.
3. It's newer than 2000.
4. It's EFI.
5. It's over 130bhp and under 200kg.

I'll add a few more hints as the days go on...
All will be revealed by Friday unless someone guesses it first.
Oh, and no listing every single bike that comes under that category... just take A single guess.

I'm aware of the recent bad news regarding bike accidents over the Easter weekend. I was actually on a ride with 3 good friends, all of whom are moderately experienced, and one of which who ended up getting an ambo ride out of the hills. Another reason i tend to be favoring the track as my riding destination as opposed to the hills.

Anyway... back on a happier topic of a new bike.
Nope, it's not a ZX10R... although i almost bought one of them.
Another hint would be that they came in blue but my one is red.

Sorry and sad to say it's not an R1.
I'm keeping an eye out for an ~'05 for the next upgrade though.

I'm gonna have to say close but not quite... but given your guess is so close i'm going to have to reveal it now.

It's a K1 GSXR1000.

Consider this a brief foray into the world of 'other' brands... as im hoping to be back on a ~2004/2005 R1 in a little while; just this one came up for a good deal and i couldn't resist.
28,000 km's. Arrow exhaust (and original), powerbronze screen (and original), hugger, ventura rack & bag, paddock stand, pillion seat cowl, anodized bolts and a heap of spares.

I'll be taking delivery of it late this week or early next, and will be fitting a Power Commander 3 USB and alarm to it the following weekend... as well as giving it a full service. So now i AM in a hurry to sell off the FZR1000 because otherwise my bank manager will be coming with a knife wanting a kidney or something. I can't wait to get it down to the track and see if it makes a difference to my riding!

Whilst i'll admit its got a bit more power than the FZR1000 it's more the weight that i'm interested in. The K1 GSXR1000 is ~30kg less than the FZR1000.
I think i still prefer the black colour scheme of all of them, but this red one is growing on my quite a bit... so i might leave the fairings as they are. That said i'm now a blue power-ranger riding a red bike, so that might result in a few odd looks.

Excuse my ignorance, but was there any key clue that pointed to the Suzuki?

Don't sell the 1000 to an undeserving clown at any rate please

Nope, no key clue aside from that if you've been subject to one of my raving banters about 'i cant find a new bike i like!' then you'd have picked up that i was after an R1, but wasn't opposed to a GSXR and couldn't quite get used to the ZX10R. I was also tinkering with the prospect of an RSV Mille but that didn't quite do it for me as i was always lusting after the RSV-R.

I'd love for the FZR1000 to go to someone who really knows what it is!

Riding squid is one thing, riding naked is another!
I like my fairings too much as i rely on something to tuck behind when the speeds get up above the 200 mark, which are reasonable speeds on the track.
The only way to lose anywhere NEAR 30kg's from my FZR1000 (and trust me i've done the math!) would be to...
- run an ultralight race exhaust system worth ~$1200 which isnt road legal...
- use very light wheels (expensive! $$$)
- swap the front forks with something newer and lighter (not very expensive but requires machining which is expensive)
- start hollowing the frame (expensive and dangerous)
- carbon fibre fairings ($$$!!!)
