It took a bit of force for me to get it back on.
Make sure it's lined up and use a bit of heavy handedness.

Borrow your gfs/sister's/mother's hair dryer and heat up the rubber boots before you put the pieces back together. Hint, you can in fact install the rubber boots first before the airbox if you heat them enough to be pliable.

The only way i could get the bloody things back together was fit the airbox to the carbs off the bike, then re-fit air box and carb assembly to the intake boots...heat wasn't required, best of luck

    haha.
had exactly the same problem today.
took me an hour an a half to get them all on.
and even now im not so sure they're all properly in place..

do you think K&N airfilters would fit?

I got this same problem ... I cant get the airbox back on for the life of me

I took the bike for a ride without the airfilters on just up the street and back ...

Now the bike wont rev above 8000 rpm when I ride it ... when its at idle it will rev all the way to redline 18,000 if I want it to

How tempremental are these carbies to airleaks ...

The air tubes that go between the airbox and the carbs I think maybe 2 and 3 may not be on quite right ya reakon this could cause it to run like a dog ...

Thats the only thing that I have done to the bike and before this it was running pretty bloody good just a little rich and costing a bit on fuel ...

Best I can offer is that you loosen off the clamps on the boots adequately and smear a bit of vaseline on the rubbers.

Ok I got the airbox on ...

There are gaps around the tubes where they go into the airbox

Would this cause the bike to not rev above 8000rpm

Its like the bike is hesitating and or Leaning out badly and it will not go above 80kph ...

Does the airbox have to be fully sealed around where the airtubes go into the airbox ???

There isn't anything else that I have done that I can think of that would be causing the bike not to rev properly ...

    Any ideas ?

All I did while the airbox was off was have a visual inspection of the carby throats ...

I had a feeling they would have been pretty gunked up ...

But when I checked they were all shiney clean ... but reeked of petrol

Neways the bike is booked in for monday to get fixed so fingers crossed all is well after they retune it and set it up for me ...

Hopefully I can get some good economy out of the bike aswell ...
