I am curious as to how much people have enjoyed or hated the Fizzer. We seem to hear a lot of peoples problem, but that is not always a good indicator of the overall picture...

Personally I found it a great learning experience for my first bike

Great learners bike and probably even consider buying one now if the right one came up, but getting too old and expensive vs market value. Stil got a soft spot, though

It has to be remembered, that they were designed as a performance bike. They are high power but FA torque. They are a lot of fun, but high in maintinance.

It's nice for what it was meant for, a cafe racer.

I like it because there are so few of them on the road and they are kinda like a limited edition bike or something

I only bought the bike to use until I get my unrestricted but now I might just keep it.

This is a fairly subjective question. If you bought a sh*t heap then of course it will cost you buckets to keep it on the road. But if you bought a decent example then the experience should always be positive. They're high-revving, high maintenance (oil change every 3k km's) but they are awesome fun compared to a commuter like a GPX, ZZR and the like.

Me? I have only had good experiences with mine, notwithstanding that I outlaid about $400 after I bought it to have the valve shims done, the chain tensioned properly and the carbs cleaned to solve the cold start issues. After that it's just been lube, fill and run.

Mine was a bad luck story

Bought off father in law, serviced more times than ridden, in good condition, had over $1k spent when I bought it in upkeep, and due to a mechanics BAD oversight of a problem, she went boom. Lack of funds meant trying to get everything done on the cheap, and she just went downhill from there. Lets just say she is a lesson or two learned.

Keeping in mind I have been on the sly for the right one at the right price!

I think it mostly depends that in what condition you got your bike. FZR250 is my first sport bike and despite few problems I have found it to be a great bike. You'll find this bike competing well with ZXR or CBR both in the style and the performance. Great bike to ride.

To me it seems that some forget how important the FZR was in late 1980's Japan. That is the 'holy land' of race bikes, in my opinion. And that era brought about the most genuine of race bread replicas. I would ride little else other than my FZR.

(And I don't want to hear anything about Ducati's, lol)

Good one Dave!

Well by looking at the figures it has been a mostly positive experience, but with the age and history of these I guess that the odd lemon will appear.

The funny thing with mine was that the seat was rock hard, but it was more comfortable than the bike that I have now.

+1 dave, the bike im riding now gives you numb hands when riding on a highway for a while due to laying right over the tank and having all your weight on your arms.
although i got a lemon i still forund it a positive experience you learn alot more alot faster if you have to fix it so its not all bad (in my opinion).
