Painting Wheels

    Hello all,
    Im new to this forum, i have an fzr 250 3ln3. Had it for 3 Months now and i think it is just fantastic. I was wanting to paint the wheels on it gloss black, iv got my paint, and the clear coat. Just a couple of things,
    -Is there anyway i can take the front wheel off without a front stand?
    and How many coats would you advise? any other tips?

    Any help and advice is appreciated!

    What i do to lift the front is to put a car jack with a flat piece of metal and lift the bike up from the headers or just go and buy a head lift stand from kaeng.

    You can also use a chain block and lift it if you have a suitable overhead lifting point. But make sure that you lift the front and back off the ground by attaching ropes around the neck/bars and somewhere solid near the back seat, otherwise it can fall over.

    hey

    i assume u have already done it but for anybody else wanting to to paint there wheels a 2pack(instant gloss) colour would be fine but if u wanted to use a cob( clear over base) would be a better finish and 2 coats should be enough 3 if u have the paint also 2 clear coats is enough. if u are painting them a different colour such as a red or something it will be alot more coats as it doesnt cover aswell

    hey what type/brands of paints have you guys used to paint your wheels? im looking to paint mine myself but i want it to look as good as possible.
