This is just for those who are interested, i ran a 14.930@147.98k's on the standing 1/4 mile. pretty ok i thought... Beat my mates in there integra and XR6 falcon though the gixxer750 next to me was a little faster than me (10.7@217k's).

Anyone one else done the 1/4 on there bikes?

That's probably about half a second slower than I would have thought. I suppose it is realistic.. Even now V8 commodores and falcons are only getting in the 13-14 seconds for the 1/4mile. Putting it all into perspective, I will quote MOTOR magazine (december 2007 edition),

    Ford Falcon Cobra 4.9 (1978) 17.8secs,
    HSV Group A Walkinshaw (1988) 14.8 secs
FPV GT Cobra (2007) 13.9 secs
    HSV Clubsport R8 20th (2007) 13.4 secs

I have noticed last time at the drags most of the litre road bikes were pulling low 10's.

I think the published 1/4's for mine (SV650) are low 12's with my bike rated at about 75 hp at the rear wheel, which would be about double the FZR. Most litre sports bikes would be in a range of 115-150 RWHP. I did see a formula somewhere that gave an ET and speed for a given HP and weight...

My BA falcon (6cyl) seems positively tame compared to my bike, although a few years ago (before bikes) I would have thought it was the ducks guts.

You can feel a warm inner glow that your bike is performing almost as well as a $65,000 performance car.

    Hi Larry,
That's good info! I was actually thinking the fizzer would be faster... <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( --> It FEELS like it would, but then again, I have not tried an official 1/4 mile. Good work!

yeah i think it could probably go a bit better with a better launch and some cleaner changes. Im not really the sort of tiny asian fellow these bikes were designed for tho, (i weigh bout 78kgs). Mind you the fizzers love the bends more than boring straight lines!!

Totally agree that the bends have it all! My 2kr still manages to throw me back in the seat, can reach 180 km/h, and I'm 6'1" at 205 lbs (which is 98 kg's!). Good luck next time, cheers.

Scratch that... 205 lbs = 92 kg's. Still, any heavier and the bike would be useless, lol.
