AHAHAHHAHAAA cop that stupid fzr.... uv being damped!

So getting this damper on is something that has being on my back, and a source of frustration for a few weeks now. Luckily i have a friend with access to a milling machine, and an afternoon. So he machined up the bracket for the tank bolts... the main arm that is holding the damper rod is modified from the r6 mounting kit, and the damper is secured to the top triple clamp just using some flat steel. Looks a little shabby atm, but after some filing, paint an a weld here and there it should be good.
Works a treat, an bumpy roads are no longer a problem. All up cost about $140. The damper brand is an extremetech.

Interesting place to put a aftermarket, i put mine along the side until i decided that i didn't need it as the tank-slappers were easily cured by more throttle.

how have you found it, in my experience i didn't feel the little 250 could induce any tank-slappers or instability through the front end.

Good work on the custom mounts though.

thanks for the reply m... iv found on smooth roads that the fzr's pretty good, only in corners, say 110+kmh when ur hanging off the bike it gets a bit unstable and the fzr develops a very consistent side to side sway(through the handlebars). i ride on alot of bumpy roads which are very demanding on the suspension aswell and the damper works wonders on these roads. it surprises me to here u didnt feel the need for one... mayb im just a scaredy cat! <!-- s:cry: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cry.gif" alt="" title="Crying or Very sad" /><!-- s:cry: -->

given my trouble mounting this one, if i had to do it again id just buy a side mount one an clamp it between the frame and the forks (this one was too short).
