Hey guys i was just wondering if i could get some idea of how well FZR's are speed wise against CBR's and ZXR's because i've been getting thrashed off the line and at high speed. do i have running problems or is it just that they are quicker bikes?

If they are all 250's and your all the same weight then probably something wrong.

FZR's 29kw @ 14000rpm
ZXR's 32kw @ 15000rpm
CBR (94-96) 34Kw @15000rpm.

Try to improve air delivery, lose 5kg and think about changing sprockets to get a torque ier gear ratio. who needs to do 170kph right?

Im lucky enough to have a friend with a good condition zxr, and a friend with a mint cbr... and me with my pretty good fzr.

Depends on riders launch skill of course, but:

0-40k's- FZR wins cos of our little friend exup! (and a slipping clutch at 10000rpm )

0-100kmh- FZR and CBR are EXACTLY... well so very very close, you'd wonder where the extra $2000 went.

100+k's the ZXR whoops us all... But i think this is because of my friend has a big back sprocket. He can do 203! i top out at 185 or so.

year coz i get hammered off the line. do you rekon that i could have a fuel flow problem coz it chokes really bad when the revs get up to about 8-10000 rpm and i loose heaps of power

My FZR runs a 17T front sprocket and rear 57T sprocket. Assuming this is stock and what you guys are using you could improve delivery of speed by dropping the size of the front sprocket by 2 teeth and increase the rear by 1 tooth you will get 15% faster in each gear but lose some top speed. for example if your top was 140kph with this gearing you will lose 21k's and have a 119kph top speed.

Edit;
Based on if zxr was the same weight, using its gear ratio it seems
that the zxr is 21% more power at the wheel then the fzr.
