    I read on the forum that injector cleaners can work on the carbed engine and thought i'd give it a shot. On the fill up today, I bought STP injector cleaner ($4.99 CDN) which can treat upto 80L of gasoline. I used about 1/6 of it on my 12L gas tank.

    At first, obviously I didn't feel anything. Then after a long visit to my g/f's house, when I'd decided to head home, fired the engine, it fired right up even without choke after 10-hour parking.

    On the way home, the engine felt a bit different. It was revving smoother, sounded better, and had more power at lower end. Even though it was raining, I enjoyed the ride home so much.

    Tomorrow's supposed to be sunny, so I'll take it for some practice ride in a parking lot and see if it indeed got back everything it'd lost.

    Injector Cleaners.... Make use of it!

    Follow up...

    It's been about a week and a half since I dumped 1/6 bottle of that injector cleaner in the gas tank, and that time, I said wow. (see above)

    And I still say WOW!!!

    Only ONE treatment gave me morning startups WITHOUT CHOKE!!!

    Opening the gas valve, turning the key, pushing the button and then a little twist on the throttle give me instant start up. Again, WITHOUT CHOKE.

    I'm getting way better mileage (big hop from 110~ish km/11L to 110~ish km/7L). The engine sounds much better, Idles better-used to stall on me once in a while upon closing the throttle. I think the injector cleaner cleaned a bit of the fuel system as well.

    I'm gonna give it another dose next fill up.

    I'll keep you people updated.

    P.S. I'm thinking about giving it a dose of fuel system cleaner, too. (not at the same time though <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: --> )

    Its the truth mate. I have a big bottle of it stowed under my seat at all times. It wont take the place of manually cleaning the carbs but it will help you get more time between cleanings.
