Hey guys, I went for a ride this morning and on the way the blinkers just stopped working....ALL of them!!! they were working earlier, but none of them come on now, and the indicator light on my dash does not flash either....the blinker switch on the handlebars feels and moves like it normally would, there doesnt seem to be any change there.... any ideas?? in laymans terms?? on where to start??

    Thanks

Check for bad connections at the blinker relay plug and also the plug at the neck/handlebars that connects to the blinker switch.

If you turn on the ignition and short out the 2 wires at the blinker relay and turn the blinker switch on, one set of lights should come on.

According to the drawing I have, the blinker relay has +12V on one terminal (comes from the ignition coils) and the other terminal connects to the blinker switch. While the blinkers are not on, this other terminal should also have 12v on it. If not the relay is faulty. Measure voltage with the black lead of multimeter hooked to the battery's negative terminal.

ok...i have already pulled apart the the little box thingy on the left hand handlebars that has all the switches on it...unscreweedd the whole thing and all the connections look good and everything seems to function fine..just no blinkers....all i can think is that somewhere (there is a big black tube covered group of wires that runs from this box underneath the bike, i am only guessing something might be wrong under there???

I think that is one connection. Not sure were the blinker relay is located, but under one of the seats comes to mind..

Should be located near the battery and looks like a black fuse box looking thing. I hope that helps, just look for the box that the rear indicator wires goes to.

    Well done Pesqueezo.

For anyone else reading this thread in the future i believe the blinker canister is located on the left hand side of the bike behind the duck tail fairing. It's mounted in a rubber holder and is circular and ~2cm in diameter.
