Does it run OK if you leave it for a while before restarting??.. If so I would look for a fuel supply blockage problem. Check fuel filter, hoses, pump and supply valve.

Probably the best way to check would be to take the hose off the carb and turn on the ignition and make sure there is a good stream of fuel coming out.

    another problem

hi.The bike starts after a while again ,but soon after the same problem. I checked the fuel pump it a constant streem of fuel, so i count it out. The other problem is now when i start it it backfires through the exhoust ? do not know the cause of it. <!-- s:cry: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cry.gif" alt="" title="Crying or Very sad" /><!-- s:cry: -->

I can only suggest that you check the levels in the carb float bowls when it is running ok and again when it plays up. This can be done by putting a clear plastic tube over the carb drain and then opening the drain valve - here is where you put it -

If that does not show up any problem then you need to look elsewhere.

    1) Start with the sparkplugs

    2) Check the charging system - Crook regulators and batteries have been known to cause runability problems. Battery should be around 12v when ignition on and 13.5-14.5v at 4,000rpm.

    3) Get a compression test done - you need over 100PSI - new 160PSI

    4) Might have a crook CDI unit or flywheel pickup.

    Keep in touch..

DAVE that is an awsome post. I worked a a bike mechanic for two years and did not know that. every book I have read sets the float hieght relative to the top of the bowl, and i have never found it accurate enough.
