What model is your bike, 2KR and early 3LN have a filter in the sump which you remove by undoing and removing the exhaust headers and then find a plate on the bottom of the sump with 3 screws. Undo the screws and the filter then will fall out.

Later 3LN's have a spin on canister type on the front of the sump.

ive got the 3LN, do i need to replace the whole canister itself, or can i just swap the insides? i bought an air filter (mate works at a bike shop) and dont want to waste it.

are you asking if you can use the air filter that you bought and use it as an oil filter? I'd think it wouldnt be a great idea! lol and doubt if it would even fit!

Just order in a new oil filter ;)

There is only one piece so you have to replace the whole thing

Ok PICOY - to download the manual sections, or any file, you need to right click on the file hyperlink, then from the pop-up menu select SAVE TARGET AS... and select the directory (folder) where you want to save the file and click OK

If then you cannot view the file on your PC, you need to install http://get.adobe.com/reader?JSESSIONID=-314369639
