I have been fiddling around for a few hours now trying to figure out how to change the globes in the instrument clusters..ie speedo tacho and temp etc...

On the front it appears to have allen key screws which too my knowledge seem to be fake and do not infact unscrew..?

Do i have to take the front fairing off to get at the back of the clusters ? How do you go about changing the globes?

I assume they are just little 4w blade type globes also?

    Thanks

The 2kr had blade globes so it would be reasonable to expect the 3LN to be the same. Don't know how to get to them though..

Hey noobiefzr, did you get that figured out? I need to replace my globes too. Would be good to get a heads up if there's a real trick to it.

hey maxfacta, nah mate, really easy!

    Took about 20 minutes though..

You have to take the nose fairing off, mirrors, indicators etc etc etc.. And whilst youve got all that off you may as well replace all the globes.. Youll need 7x 12V 4W Blade Globes and 1x 12v 1.4w Blade Globe.

Youll find it easier if you slip off the headlight harness and stuff though. It MIGHT be possible to get at the globes from just removing the windscreen though, but might be a bit harder..

    But yeah real easy mate!

Thought that I'd confirm that it is possible, and in fact fairly easy, to replace the globes (mine is 3LN) just by removing the windscreen.
(What *isn't* easy is putting the front 2 windscreen bolts back on. A 7 foot long arm with 2 elbows is needed (or a mate)).

For reference, the globes which came out were 12V 1.7W. I replaced 'em with 12V 3W, coz that's all I could find, and they work nice 'n bright.
