    Hey guys ive been trouble shooting on my fzr 3ln6, at first the bike started losing power and eventually stopped.
    I waited 5 minutes and it started agian and then after about 1 click it stopped again and now wont start at all.
    At first i thought it was a fuel problem but the system seems fine, the plugs seem to have a weak spark so
    im now thinking coil or cdi but have no idea how to check them. does anyone have any ideas?
    thanks.

    Well, hopefully it's not your TCI box. Check your charging system first; these things do NOT like flat batteries, and don't run worth a damn unless you keep the juice flowing. Get a voltage meter, check your battery volts off, and check the electrolyte levels. If your battery has most of its fluid, but is flat, you may have a charging problem or a ground fault that's draining your charge. If the battery is damn near empty with corrosion on your swingarm near the battery vent tube, you've probably got a bad voltage regulator.

    how did you come to the conclusion that the fueling system seems fine?

    I had the same experience as you before, and the reason ended being i was out of fuel <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt=":shock:" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: --> ....

    when your fuel supply is blocked, or low on fuel, the fuel pump isn't pumping enough fuel to the carb, but if you stop for a while and let the fuel settle by gravity, eventually enough fuel will settle in the carb for you to start the engine again..

    Well thanks for that guys, ill try testing with a meter shortly.
    The reason I ruled out fuel is from running fuel through a container straight into the fuel pump and had the pipe that goes to the carby un plugged and the fuel ran smoothly through when I turned it over and ive been riding it since. it randomly started when i put it back together. the problem now is its stopped again and the starter motor wouldn't even turn at first and then suddenly started clicking over again but doesn't show any signs of starting at all, this is why im thinking cdi or something electrical but its really starting to do my head in.

    As dontz125 said - Check the battery. The FZR has a bad habit of dying when the battery is getting flat but will still crank over on the starter untill the battery gets completely flat..

    Try jump starting of a good car battery.
