Hey guys, I was hit with the qld floods and unfortunately my bike (3LN) went under aswell, I have given the cylinders a clean out but because I sold my coils I need to borrow some to give it a bit of a run to flush the oil system as there is oil and water in there so I put diesel in with it.

If there is anyone in S.E. Queensland that has a set of coils off there bike could I PLEASE borrow them or buy them if they are cheap, thanks.

Hi Trev, Sorry to hear that you got caught in the floods. Hope there wasn't too much damaged in that disaster.
Was your bike completely under water? What town you from in QLD? Wish I had the coils to lend but I parted with my bike few years ago. Any luck on trying the bike wreckers and getting them to send it to you?

    Cheers
    Dean

Sorry to hear about your loss Trev - Bad news all round. My nephew lives in Brissy and he lost his car, being a truck driver left his car at the work place and it went under and was taken away while he was out in the back blocks stuck by more flooding.

We even had flash flooding down here last friday, luckily not too much damage around the town. I will put some pics up later

Damn Trev i was wondering if your house went under, would of sent a text but forgot i had your number. I'd happily lend you mine if my bike wasn't in Darwin right now along with me. Hope you get it going. If you still need it when i get back (around the end of this month just let me know, would be happy to help.

I got caught up in toowoomba when it all happened, was only a few streets away from the main street, didn't even know there was cars getting thrown down the road or that it was flooding that bad. Was just pulled up in a car waiting for the range to open (thinking it would) . Was stuck there for three days.

**** hey, I managed to buy another near complete bike (some plastics missing) very cheap, they guy I got it off was told that it had work done to the engine and it does sound fairly beefy, going to use all the good bits on my bike and use this for recreational purposes.

All I need now is a brake light surround, left hand fairing and 2 (I think) indicators.

    (left is the new one).

Photos from our flash floods here 2 weeks ago

Local toyota dealship on main highway though town.

Pumphouse used to supply water to the papermill where I worked for 34 years - Closed down in August. Never flooded like that before. The river is normally on the far side of the pumphouse.

The weir just below the pumphouse - Normally a placid flow
    [IMG]

Railway bridge a bit further down the river - big log jam

There was a lot of other flooding in other areas, but this is just what happened around Burnie.

Looking at those muddy parts I feel gutted for you, glad you're making progress getting her back on the road.

Those floods in Toowoomba were pretty horrific, just the speed and suddenness that they hit the city center.
