Hello everybody. I dont have a streetbike yet but I offroad with my yz250f. I have a chance at getting an 86 fzr250 but I am not sure if I should get it. I know it's not meant for highway cruising but here is my question. If i were to take it on a longish trip would it be hard on it to go 110km/h? What kind of RPM would it be at? Any input on what your bikes do would be cool. Thanks.

think of it this way. I sat on 180kph+ (15k+RPM) for a good hour... The FZR's love it

    PS. Buy a 3LN

Wow that sounds great. The 3LN's are much better? I live in Canada and there is not a whole lot out there. Thanks for your input.

Expect the engine to run at approx 10,000 rpm at 100k and it is JUST starting to get into its max torque range. The later ('88) 2KR have the EXUP as well. 3LN engines have a higher rev limit.

Thanks for the posts guys. I am excited about getting one. Depending on my money situation and when the bike gets to canada I may buy one. If I do I will be sure to post pics.

Ahhhh - a lightweight! 220-240lbs, depending on what the meds have been doing lately.

Where are you in Canada? There are a few grey importers around, one in BC and one here in Toronto.

I live in central Alberta. The one in BC is probably in Vancouver eh? Long ways frome here. 14 hour drive . Could be worth it though.
