i crashed my FZR 250 on thursday the 17th, i'm ok (very sore with 3 or 4 broken ribs), i had a girl driver brake suddenly in front of me just as i was looking in my mirror i think, i locked up the rear brake and the bike high sided me at about 90 kph, i rolled for what seemed like ages, the bike is repairable cos all it did was slide on the left side. i have had some great help from my mates thank god.

damage cosists of - bent handlebar, bent gear lever (not too bad), snapped of peg, two indicators need replacing, ugly dent in fuel tank (gonna be a bugger to fix)
bent clutch lever (i can bend it back at work), choke lever is broken and a broken fairing, dent in the chassis seems minor.
i'm glad the bike just slid and not rolled over and breaking more things like the muffler, my helmet got a good workout and it will go onto the shelf as a memory - i will cut the straps so that it will never get used again too, i know the law on that one- if if gets dropped it is deemed weaker and illegal
i have 3 - 4 broken ribs too
cold have been ALOT worse i know that

The gender of the driver doesnt really have anything to do with their ability to drive. But im not going to pick out all the faults of your riding, 4 busted rips and the worst case of road rash "i've" seen seems to be reminding you.

My last crash was similar to yours in terms of the sliding, a half wit in a 4wd decided to use the wrong lane in a roundabout to turn, didnt use indicators and when he did decide to stop, he was in the middle of both lanes blocking traffic.

I wouldnt be bending the brake leavers back, id be replacing them, bending something forged into a shape must do wonders to its structural integrity.

fuckkkkkk, 90kph would have been pretty nasty, you are fuckin lucky mate, were you wearing gear? (assuming not based on the gravel rash) ... fuckin mirrors eh... thats why I dont use them... slight turn of the head and visibility becomes much more vivid.

I remember having a bloke indicate and brake to pull into his driveway and didnt pull into it.. smashed into the back @ 30kph which felt pretty nasty punching my hand through the windscreen and almost severing my leg when the bike pinned up against the tray of the ute.

-- I was very lucky my leg didnt hit the corner of the tray (like the tank did) and only smacked the side of it causing heavy bruising.. A lesson learnt

This is 3 months down the track (2 weeks ago)...

Hope you get better champ...

thanks guys for your support, just like another forum - ASB - you guys rock

i'm having a good time fixing the bike, will be a street fighter untill i get my new fairing,
upgrading instead of stock replacement is the way to go for me
lucky i have the cash to do so, new clip ons are $180. overall i'm pumping about $400 minus the fairing coming up soon, that might be $500 on it's own

There's a bloke on ebay who's selling them for $235 + $225 shipping..

I think the shipping is a little bit ridiculous, perhaps you could have a chat to them directly to bring the shipping cost down..

Thats a bad crash man, I feel sorry for you and your bike. I crashed once on my 125cc bike and got a three inch bruises like that, took so much time to heal.
Recover soon and ride safe!
