    ..so much work <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Few of you might have seen a black fizzer that was being done up as a street fighter on ebay last week be sold for 1K.

Well, its now sitting in my backyard stripped to its bare essentials.

When i got it home, i replaced the battery and started her up. First time it kicked over i was ecstatic, takes a good 5 secs for my old fizzer. Next i rode it up and down the street to see if the engine was rough.

To put it bluntly, it feels as if its just been serviced, or its never been ridden before.

    Now to the nitty gritty.
The rear subframe has to go. Considering i bought the bike to finish the street fighter mod, something about doing a hackjob on the frame, bolting numerous L shelf brackets together, then cutting the old clipons in half to make a support for the R6 seat so it didnt implode on internals doesnt make it at all safe in my eyes (or the mechanics).
So far i've pulled the subframe off and cried at the electrical work down to support the LED r6 globes that were stickytaped to the inside of the R6 undertray. I tried being gentle with it, but after finding the RH indicator connected via the rear brakes + line, i gave up and cut it off. Figured im putting my purple fizzers tail on, ill mayswell put the same cable bundle in.
All the accessories so far seem bloody expensive, hes got one of the suckers hooked up http://www.s3performance.com.au/ace...e-p-32.html?osCsid=6h3lus5i9liqpblbiqgp069250 but im not sure its dialed in, considering it only reads up to 19KRPM (currently set to 11 <!-- s:???: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_confused.gif" alt=":???:" title="Confused" /><!-- s:???: --> ) and speed is read by a reed switch on the back hub. Thinking one of these are in order just to cure any worries http://www.s3performance.com.au/ace...i-p-61.html?osCsid=6h3lus5i9liqpblbiqgp069250.

Handlebars are iffy. I've never liked non-clipons unless im standing on the pegs, and that only occurs on my friends KTM's, so i think reconnecting my old clipons, and using the new fizzers connections are best (reminds me to put the light switch on the new fizzers controls back in o.O).

The misses has instantly said if i dont put the old fizzers front fairing on, she'll take a cricket bat to the new fizzers front globe. Im forced to agree on that front (until i can get my hands on a YZF125 front end)

After thats all done, Blue Slip, registered, insurance etc etc is in order, then a good old respray.

Will do, hopefully it will pass the BlueSlip.

The mechy gave me a mouthful because i rode the bike to him, i dont blame him, its illegal, but i had less then 10 days to get the bloody thing slipped before the receipt gave out which would of forced me to go all the way down to wollongong again for a new one, besides if i was to be pulled over in the 2 minute ride, the coppers would of ran my purple FZRs plates and got a valid registration <!-- s:???: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_confused.gif" alt=":???:" title="Confused" /><!-- s:???: -->

Here in Tas it is legal to drive/ride directly to the inspection site and nearest registration payment point.
I am surprised other states do not have the same law.

Had a workmate who got pulled over by the cops. Back up the road they had the automatic camera that reads the numberplate and lets them know the unregistered vehicle is approaching. He was told that if he continued into town and paid he would not get a fine. Idiot continued on his trip without paying and got fined.

Thanks dave, i just checked the RTA website again, bloody maze it is, and found this:
    When you can drive unregistered:

Unregistered light vehicles can be driven for the purpose of obtaining registration by the most direct or convenient route:

To the nearest convenient motor registry.
To the nearest convenient vehicle inspection station or authorised safety check station to determine whether the vehicle complies with the applicable vehicle standards.
In the course of inspecting or testing the vehicle to determine if it complies with the applicable vehicle standards.
To the nearest practicable weighbridge to determine the weight of the vehicle.
From a motor registry or safety check station where the registration of the vehicle has been refused, to the nearest convenient place where necessary repairs can be made or where the vehicle can be garaged, unless a direction has been issued that the vehicle must not be driven before the necessary repairs have been made.
From an authorised safety check station to the nearest convenient place where necessary repairs or adjustments can be made or where the vehicle can be garaged.
To the nearest convenient office of a licensed insurer for the purpose of obtaining Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance.
To the nearest convenient location for any other purpose directly associated with the registration process.
If you are caught driving an unregistered vehicle on any other route, you may be fined and police may remove the vehicle's number plates on the spot or they may seize the vehicle.

Should i slap on the old unregistered plates and rego sticker then?

If you are complying with that, then ok to ride. I don't think you even need the plates, but then I am not a lawyer.

champ, if your on your way to get it registered and you get pulled over, just ensure your ACTUALLY on your way to the RTA.

If your heading in the opposite direction, be sure you'll cop a $1300 fine. (i got pulled over unregistered, no L plates, no license on me and speeding -- and got lucky... *copper was sister's ex-boyfriend*) no rego alone was $1300.

    Done and Done.

Dialed the digital tacho in, bout .2 of a K off compared to my old tacho. Then again i wouldnt be surprised with the way its mounted.

Funnily enough, im still getting weird bogging/speed issues ~130KM/h mark. I put in my old Fuel Pump, as the new (and different) one didnt seem to be pumping properly. Im beginning to think i have a fuelling issue. My old bikes pump was not OEM so im gonna guess its not pumping enough fuel at the high speeds?
