oil filter type

Which one? The 2KRs and the 3LN1 have an internal filter; the 3LN3+ have an external spin-in filter.

 

I've got a 1988 fzr250 (2kr) & need some advise re correct oil filter.
On the K&N website they list a
KN-144 part number for the 1988 fzr400 genesis. Is this suitable for my bike - as I've heard the 250 & 400 are very close cousins.
Doesn't have to be a K&N - just any type easily sourced.

The 400s and 250s used a different internal filter; the 400 used 1L9-13441-11, while the 250 used 4X7-13440-90.
